Welcome to the new FoodSHIELD Recall Page.  The purpose of the recall page is to provide a summary of all FDA and USDA Class I recalls and health alerts.  Providing this summary is an effort to help streamline communication and make information more accessible to those concerned with food recalls. 

If you've visited our old recall page, you'll notice that this is quite a change in format.  The reason we changed to a new format is to better provide recall and health alert information.  This format gives us several advantages over the old pages: more space to provide information, automatic archiving by month (see Archives list at right), easier and more powerful search function, and the ability for readers to provide feedback.

Each post about a recall or health alert will contain the following information, unless it is not applicable to that particular event:

• Agency releasing recall or alert
• Date of recall or alert
• Company involved
• Product involved
• Pathogen associated with the event
  
• Links to announcements and other supporting documentation
• Whether the event is related to a previous recall or alert
• Whether human illness is associated with the event
